I would type in 'lawn care' to see what keywords are being input for lawn care advice to drive traffic to my web site.
Now, I would note only the keyword phrases
that relate to the content found on my web site.. For example, if I don't have any tips on organic lawn care, I would exclude any keyword phrases that have the word 'organic'.
The long phrases like 'tips for lawn care advice' are extremely targeted. Those keywords are useful for pay-per-click (or PPC) advertising to drive traffic to my web site.
PPC ads are displayed on the search engines results pages. You see them on the right side of any result page. Each time you click on an ad, the web site owner who placed that ad pays the search engine anywhere from 1 cent to tens of dollars depending on the popularity of the keywords.
PPC is the fastest way to drive traffic to my web site. I can write an ad in 'adwords' and have it displayed in a couple of hours. Of course, it depends on the popularity of the keywords I chose to drive traffic to my web site.
To find out, use the keyword popularity tool on the sites I just gave you.
A note of caution here. These PPC campaigns are not to be set forever. You have to keep an eye on them. First, I make sure I put a limited amount for daily budget
(I usually put $10 dollars at first). Second, I monitor the performance of my ads to see which ones are getting clicked. I always have at least two ads running for the same keyword phrases. That way I can make changes to beat my best performing ads to get more clicks to drive traffic to my web site.
I drive traffic to my web site in no time using these methods.
